This 1980 Mitsubishi MC8000 is an amazing piece of kit and is in lovely condition. It's had a full refurb (December 2020) to bring it into the 21st Century. New belts to arm motor, casette deck, turntable.
LED's fitted to illuminate at night. Bluetooth unit fitted inside (not an external unreliable plug-in). New headshell to tone arm. It comes with the very sought-after door (great condition) and original speakers (very rare).
Overall it's in lovely condition. The main unit is pretty much scratch free and there is no corrosion to the brushed chrome which is very often the case in these machines. There is a scratch on the flat surface above the panel (shown on photo) which can only been seen when looking over the top of the unit.Otherwise it's amazing that it has lasted in this condition for 40 years. It sounds great and the speakers are also in full working condition. There is some scratching to the top/bottom of the speakers and the frontage is loose on the one speaker (shown on photo) but it can be pushed back flat. I've got another one of these and use with some large Aiwa 100w speakers which sound amazing. The original speakers are great but aren't the most powerful so you may want to use your own.
I've tried to explain everything as honestly as possible as I like my listings to be completely accurate. It's an awesome unit and still looks so contemporary. This is by far the best example of a MC8000 I've ever seen and in my opinion it's the best vertical turntable ever made as it's a beautiful piece of kit and I love them! The LED light strip is wired in and runs along the top underside of the turntable and illuminates vinyl which looks lovely at night and the Bluetooth unit is active when the'AUX' switch is pressed.
It sounds as good as it looks and it's very rare to find one with an unbroken door (or one at all for that matter). If anyone overseas wants this it is entirely at your own risk and I will only send to the GSP in the UK. Again, I cannot stress enough that these do not travel well. I'm very passionate about these units and hate them to get damaged.
